We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join our team and support the successful delivery of complex mechanical, plumbing projects valued at up to $20 million. This role is responsible for preparing detailed and accurate estimates for MEP construction projects. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical systems knowledge, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to deliver complex projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with construction drawings and specs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical project estimating with strong expertise in HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems.
  • Experience estimating projects ranging from $25,000 to $50 million in value.
  • Proficiency with estimating software such as FastPipe, FastDuct, FastWrap, or equivalent platforms.
  • Willingness to travel for pre-bid meetings, job walks, and client consultations as needed.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multiple project or account portfolios simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills with the ability to build strong professional relationships.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and solution-driven with a strong ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for HVAC systems including ductwork, piping, equipment, and controls
  • Develop complete cost estimates including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor pricing
  • Solicit and evalute vendor and subcontractor quotes
  • Identify scope gaps, conflicts, and constructablilty issues within contract departments
  • Prepare and submit competitive bid proposals within required deadlines.
  • Work with Project Managers and field teams to ensure a smooth turnover from estimating to operations
  • Maintain estimating databases, labor units, and cost tracking.
