About The Position

We’re looking for a Mechanical Estimator who lives and breathes commercial refrigeration systems—and can turn that expertise into accurate estimates, smart designs, and winning bids across refrigeration, sheet metal, electrical, and plumbing scopes. This role is perfect for a Commercial Refrigeration Technician ready to step off the tools, someone who knows systems, installs, and real jobsite challenges—not just theory. The ideal candidate is detail-driven, practical, and confident in making judgment calls, ready to move into a role where their knowledge drives bigger impact and decisions. This is a high-impact role where your expertise directly wins projects, with a clear path to grow into senior estimating, engineering, or leadership roles. Your refrigeration experience is valuable—but this role multiplies it. You’ll go from installing systems to shaping entire projects before they’re built.

Requirements

Strong experience in commercial refrigeration systems (this is key)
Exposure to or interest in estimating, quoting, or project costing
Understanding of related trades: sheet metal, electrical, plumbing
Ability to read drawings, specs, and think through constructability
Strong communication skills—from field teams to clients
Tech Savvy- Ability to quickly catch on to a variety of software solutions.

Nice To Haves

Journeyman Refrigeration certification
Multi-trade estimating experience
Engineering, construction management, or design-build exposure
Lean or continuous improvement mindset

Responsibilities

Own estimates for commercial refrigeration systems—your core specialty
Analyze drawings, specs, and site conditions with a technician’s eye
Build accurate, competitive, and profitable estimates from concept to close
Identify risks, gaps, and inefficiencies others miss—and solve them
Develop estimates covering refrigeration, sheet metal, electrical, and plumbing scopes tied to commercial/institutional projects
Perform detailed take-offs, cost analysis, and vendor pricing
Coordinate across disciplines to ensure full-scope accuracy and clarity
Translate hands-on refrigeration knowledge into real-world, buildable solutions
Recommend smarter, more efficient, and more cost-effective options
Support proposal development and help win work alongside Business Development
Act as the go-to refrigeration SME for the team
Engage with suppliers, contractors, consultants, and internal teams
Walk sites, validate conditions, and bring reality into every estimate
Track bids, manage pipeline activity, and support project handoffs
