About The Position

Responsible for the design, layout, testing and evaluation of mechanical and electro-mechanical components or systems. Prepares design specifications, analysis and recommendations for presentation and approval. Analyzes mechanical requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Investigate solutions to product or process problems. Consolidates results of mechanical design elements for assigned projects. Performs product development activities including drawing board layout and interpretation/implementation of customer specifications and documentation requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
Degree to be in mechanical engineering or a related field.
Proficient CAD design skills, including part, and assembly-level modeling in a mechanical design software, preferably Creo.
Proficient CAD drafting skills with the ability to interpret and create 2D drawings.
Strong communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation).
Working knowledge of structural analysis methods using hand calculations.
Experience managing small to medium projects or processes that are both inside and outside of immediate job area.

Communicates within and outside of own function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures.
Make moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes.
Contributes to achievement of departmental goals and operating plans with direct impact on the departmental results.
Provide creative and innovative design solutions that meet product requirements for high performance, high pressure pneumatic mechanisms/systems.
Work closely with a broad team from engineering and operations to collaborate on effective solutions to design challenges.
Support conceptual and detail design processes by using your background in CAD design.
Provide support to structural and thermal analysis tasks including first order hand calculations and FEA.
Present data in design review settings (e.g., PDR, CDR), both internal and external.
Provide strong contributions to the overall product design dialogue from inception through production.
Provide hands-on support during development, prototyping, integration, and test activities.
