This position is 100% onsite; no remote or hybrid option is available at this time. The Mechanical Engineering Technician will assist with the coordination of operations and personnel scheduling for Casting and Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection (FPI) lines. This role involves interpreting complex blueprints, GD&T, aerospace specifications, and engineering documentation. The technician will develop and implement floor-level process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, safety, quality, and workflow simplicity. A key responsibility is performing Level 2 Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT) on various components and evaluating defects to determine acceptance or rejection criteria. The role also supports setup operations, researches operational techniques to improve productivity, evaluates the quality status of critical components, and trains other inspectors. Collaboration with engineering personnel for Discrepancy Reports and evaluating rework processes is also expected. The technician will inspect and monitor measuring instruments and penetrant-related materials, and perform sample collections for testing.
