About The Position

A mechanical and plumbing engineering firm specializing in custom designs and complex building solutions is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to deliver mechanical solutions for building environmental systems. The role involves collaborating with engineers, clients, and construction teams on systems for bidding and construction projects throughout Northern California, based out of the Sacramento office. The position manages mechanical engineering projects from design through construction support, designs building heating, air conditioning, ventilation, hydronic, and plumbing systems, and develops building energy models. It also involves evaluating practical solutions against project goals and applicable standards, providing technical guidance and responsive communication, and preparing technical documentation and construction deliverables using Revit and AutoCAD while applying California Building Codes and BMS controls principles.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
At least 5 years of mechanical engineering experience in a consulting engineering or design/build environment.
Knowledge of healthcare projects, hydronics, plumbing, construction support, BMS controls, and California Building Codes.

Nice To Haves

Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred).

Responsibilities

Manage mechanical engineering projects from design through construction support, coordinating schedules, deliverables, and client needs.
Design heating, air conditioning, ventilation, hydronic, and plumbing systems for building projects.
Develop building energy models and evaluate practical solutions aligned with project goals and applicable standards.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams, providing clear technical guidance and responsive communication.
