Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager to join our team! In this exciting role, you will: Assist the program with proposal preparedness and execution activities Assist the program through architectural development and subsequent design reviews to include SRR, PDR, and CDR Have the opportunity to work closely with the Program Management team in leading staffing needs for the team Help develop timely resolution plans of issues and ensure the validity of designs, compliance evidence, and all associated documentation Help to resolve Program execution issues quickly to support leadership needs

Requirements

  • Knowledge of aerospace structures hardware, conversant in other mechanical systems (including flight, ground, packaging, and mechanisms), and organizational processes.
  • Experience leading and/or managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams
  • Experience leading design efforts in support of conceptual, preliminary, and/or detailed design activities
  • Fundamental understanding of flight hardware design, integration, and/or test principles
  • Top Secret security clearance required prior to start; US citizenship required

Nice To Haves

  • Experience building key relationships across organizations to achieve strategic and/or tactical goals
  • At least 8 years of professional experience in design/development work + leadership experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (or related technical field) or equivalent experience/combined education
  • Demonstrated Full Spectrum Leadership competencies, including: communicating with positive impact, developing enduring relationships, making effective decisions, delivering value, building organizational talent, and being accountable
  • Experience leading hardware development teams
  • Fundamental understanding of mechanical drafting standards and techniques
  • Experience working with procurement and outside suppliers
  • Previous production, operations, CAM, proposal, and/or IPT lead experience
  • Willingness to mentor and develop junior engineers
  • Excellent written and verbal technical communication skills
  • Active Top Secret Security Clearance

Responsibilities
