About The Position
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will assist the Maintenance team using reliability engineering techniques, data analysis, improvement projects and defect elimination for underground and surface mobile equipment in an underground hard rock mining operation to keep our production going and our profitability up. You will also help the team coordinate with Mine Operations providing technical support. To thrive in this role, you will learn how to develop and improve equipment management strategies using a suite of reliability approaches.
Requirements
- Must be enrolled in school for the Fall 2026 semester in mechanical, civil or related engineering field.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug testing.
- Must possess current authorization to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Apply technical aptitude using root cause analysis in the investigation of failures.
- Contribute to the planning of realistic production capacity based on the analysis of preventive/predictive maintenance time needs, repair histories, inspection reports, reliability reports and reliability analysis.
- Help the reliability engineering team to apply value analysis (cost vs. benefit) in making maintenance decisions concerning repair, replacement, or redesign of equipment and systems.
