Mechanical Engineering Intern
About The Position
Kimley-Horn is seeking Mechanical Engineering students to join our Palm Beach Gardens, Florida (FL) office. This is an on-site position where interns will utilize technical software programs to analyze, produce, and quality control deliverables for clients. They will solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines. Interns will also develop familiarity with relevant regulations and company standards, perform general mechanical engineering tasks, and support the Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing team with a focus on large-scale HVAC design for projects that may include Airports, Facilities, and Universities.
Requirements
- In the process of receiving an ABET accredited Mechanical Engineering Degree (Bachelors or Masters).
Responsibilities
- Utilize technical software programs on a regular basis to analyze, produce, and QC deliverables for our clients.
- Solve complex problems, assist project managers, and collaborate across disciplines to produce our clients’ visions for the future built environment.
- Develop familiarity with the federal, state, and local regulations, as well as Kimley-Horn’s and our client’s practices, procedures, and standards.
- Perform general mechanical engineering tasks supporting various project managers as required.
- Support our Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing team specifically working on large scale HVAC design.
- Project type will vary but may include Airports, Facilities, Universities, and more.
