About The Position
FHP Manufacturing, a joint venture between Robert Bosch and Carrier, is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist engineers with developing test plans for HVAC unit rating, qualification, and reliability testing. The intern will also support these testing processes, aid in product design and development, and identify and address product design issues.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing Bachelor’s degree in Engineering disciplines (Mechanical preferred)
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Understanding of engineering fundamentals.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Basic knowledge of CAD (NX, Pro-E, AutoCAD or other packages)
- Proficient with hands on skills (cutting, forming, fabricating, brazing, welding)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Strong organizational skills
Responsibilities
- Assist engineers with developing test plans for HVAC unit rating, qualification and reliability testing
- Support unit rating, qualification and reliability testing
- Assist engineering in product design and development
- Support engineers with product development tasks such as testing and test support
- Proactively identify and address product design issues that adversely affect production or product operation
- Test prototypes and write reports to document results
- Develop basic detail and assembly drawings for products and equipment
- Perform mechanical design calculations
- Perform basic design modifications
