About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Pratt & Whitney, you will collaborate with the engineering team in the resolution of mechanical engineering problems of difficult and complex scope, seeking a balanced system solution, ensuring engineering excellence, all with supervisor oversight. You will partner with the engineering team to provide design intent to Product Definition for creation of drawings and models. You will also work with the engineering team to generate development hardware design solutions that meet the objectives of the test engines and facilitate the delivery of the development hardware to the test engines on schedule. Additionally, you will engage with Operations to address production issues and evaluate hardware nonconformances to facilitate the timely delivery of production hardware. Engineering Interns at Pratt & Whitney work on challenging, meaningful, and impactful projects across our business. Our intern program seeks to help you develop an understanding of the aerospace industry and learn about our company and its operations.

Requirements

  • Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship session.
  • Must have a minimum of 30 hours of credit by the start of the internship session.
  • Minimum 3.0 Cumulative GPA
  • Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using computer aided design (CAD) software such as NX, SolidWorks, Creo, Fusion 360, or equivalent.
  • Experience with mechanical hardware documentation or drawing standards.
  • Experience delivering presentations, writing reports or documentation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Experience with Microsoft Office products, Teamcenter, Unigraphics NX, ANSYS, and classical methods of analysis.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment demonstrating attention to detail and deadlines.
  • Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.
