As an intern, you’ll have the chance to engage in projects from start to finish, with plenty of opportunities for exploration and growth along the way. We are seeking a Technical Intern / Co-Op to join the company to support engineering staff by performing research, design support, documentation, engineering calculations, testing and verification, and other related tasks as skills allow. They will work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments. The candidate must be a well-organized self-starter, able to work in a team environment, have good communication and technical skills, and able to professionally interact with others.

Requirements

  • Associate degree or 3rd Year status minimum in an Engineering curriculum
  • Must be enrolled in an accredited university and maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA
  • Must be able to work onsite in Cypress, CA
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Computer Aided Design (CAD) experience preferred; college courses acceptable
  • Internship or technical project experience
  • Hands-on mechanical assembly experience preferred (professional, coursework, or hobby)
  • Machine shop or equivalent experience preferred (professional, coursework, or hobby)
  • Has held leadership positions in teams
  • Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn
  • Pursuing undergraduate or Master's in Mechanical Engineering

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various engineering assignments
  • Provide regular reporting of progress and status
  • Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Gather and assemble data for engineers
  • Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers
  • Assist engineers with appropriate design details and drafting
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs, and practices
  • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
