Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run May/June- December (including the Fall semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity). As a Mechanical Engineering Co-op at Collins Aerospace, you will work with Electric Power Systems which designs, tests, and manufactures aircraft generators (Constant Freq, Variable Freq, High Voltage DC, and other generator types) and motors (Permanent Magnet, Induction, and other motor types). The Electrical Power Generator and Motors Department covers all activities and designs for you to support the product from cradle to grave related effort. You will be exposed to requirement discussions with the customer, product design experience, customer interaction, and product support along with Root Cause evaluation. Development and qualification testing is also supported in our group which you may have the chance to witness and support. Support the Electric Power Generator and Motor product lines in a variety of different ways. Interact with customers and provide support to them and their products in the field. Gain experience with the professional workplace support, interaction, responsibility etc. Travel opportunities may occur depending on what role you are supporting. Support team activities (writing CRs, supporting test, supporting assembly, writing reports and other documents). Gain experience with the professional workplace support, interaction, responsibility etc. Generator product experience and manufacturing practices. Function and responsibility of the wider company activities. Understanding of the wider company products and their impact to air travel.
