Mechanical Engineering Co-Op - Summer 2026
About The Position
CACI's Mastodon Design team is seeking a talented student for a Mechanical Engineering co-op opportunity during the summer of 2026. This will be a 100% on-site position in the Rochester, NY office. The co-op will be assisting the mechanical engineering department with a variety of tasks ranging from designing and fabricating test fixtures, updating/remodeling parts and assemblies in SolidWorks, and hands on work involving building prototypes designs. During this co-op you will gain exposure to a fast-paced engineering environment which includes creating a detailed understanding of Mastodon Design's products.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Experience with CAD modeling software: SolidWorks
- Experience with creating mechanical drawings
Nice To Haves
- Knowledgeable with 3D printing and how to design for FDM printers
Responsibilities
- Aiding in recreating/generating drawings for legacy files
- Working with other engineering disciplines to create test fixtures
- May include designing concepts for small products/accessories
- Hands-on work building and assembling prototype designs
