About The Position

Your Main Project: Develop a methodology or database to allow for categorization of existing and new RGA (returned goods analysis) reports such that commonalities can be quickly referenced and cross-examined. This should allow for more efficiency in generation of future reports, as it will allow for easier access of reference information and general mitigation strategies for similar issues across application types. This will be done with input guidance from application engineering team members and management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma and currently pursuing a four-year degree in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant field.
  • Maintain a 2.5 GPA or higher per semester.
  • External applicants must be authorized to work in the US without employment visa or other sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical system analysis for shaft, gear and bearing arrangements using BearinX, Schaeffler’s proprietary analysis software.
  • Conduct failure analysis investigation through close inspection of returned parts and prepare analysis reports to present findings and recommendations to customers.
  • Consult with customers to understand needs and requirements of their application and recommend bearing solutions to meet their desired life targets.
  • Facilitate prototype and sample production via order entry and discussion with production plants.
