As a Mechanical Engineering – Associate Manager, you can expect to manage definition, interpretation, and implementation of design requirements, task delegation, coordination and execution of hardware designs, development and integration of hardware custom and procured mechanical structural assemblies in accordance with engineering process specifications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or experience commiserate with a mid-level, career engineer.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative and highly integrated team environment
  • Fundamental understanding of aerospace vehicle mechanisms, materials, and processes.
  • Ability and desire to assume ownership of tasks and drive to closure quickly and efficiently
  • Ability to navigate CAD models, drawings, and release tools (Creo/EPDM).
  • Demonstrated leadership experience - minimally as acting manager, technical lead, or team lead.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance; US citizenship is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with aerospace vehicle flight hardware design, analysis, manufacture, test, and integration.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience.
  • Experience managing/leading an engineering team
  • Proficient with Creo.
  • Experience with EPDM drawing release system.
  • Working knowledge of ASME Y14.5 including GD&T.
  • Considered a technical leader in aerospace mechanisms design.
  • Previous experience planning and allocating tasks, establishing schedules, and managing cost accounts.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and documentation, including production planning and quality management systems
  • Active Secret clearance

Responsibilities

  • Directly manage and lead 6+ engineers
  • Work collaboratively with the program and functional senior leadership to manage staffing requirements, plan job assignments/rotations to sustain engineering capabilities and critical skills, and drive performance management, career development, and personnel related activities.
  • Ensure standard technical processes, tools, and training are available and properly implemented.
  • Develop mechanisms designs such as hinges, gimbals, and actuators. Experience with machined parts, gears, and motors is preferred.
  • Represent the organization in design reviews and external interactions, practicing Full Spectrum Leadership.
  • Some travel will be required.
