The impact you’ll make As a Mechanical Engineering Manager at Lam, your responsibilities include leading, directing and managing mechanical engineers in cutting edge platform hardware development.

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor or Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, and 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams
  • Excellent communication and technical presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Highly proficient in 3D CAD tools such as CREO and Siemens NX
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and leading dynamic teams of subject matter experts
  • Proven track record of successfully driving and executing engineering requirements and project goals in a dynamic and cross-functional team environment
  • Outstanding analysis, trouble-shooting and problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on experimental and design background coupled with solid engineering skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Semiconductor industry
  • Proven track record of developing high performing teams
  • Prior experience developing semiconductor capital equipment, in particular ALD/CVD chamber hardware and plasma generation

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and mentoring
  • Assure designs adhere to Lam, SEMI standards and best-known methods (BKMs). Develop new BKMs as required
  • Foster efficient and productive collaboration with cross-functional teams including US and offshore engineering teams
  • Manage resource planning in line with department and Annual Operating Plan priorities including task and status tracking
  • Support the full life cycle of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems from concept to productization including conceptualization, designing, CAD modeling, development, and test/validation
  • Collaborate with suppliers and factories to ensure solutions can be manufactured with high-quality, optimized cost, and while meeting requirements
  • Manage risk through feasibility studies, Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), and thorough validation execution to technical specifications
  • Work cross-functionally with Systems Engineering, Global Product Support, Electrical Engineering, Controls, Mechatronics, Supplier Engineering, Software, and Technical Program Management teams as required to accomplish project goals
