About The Position

Kinperium-Hiniker LLC (Hiniker) is a Minnesota based manufacturer with a strong history in agricultural equipment since 1970 and a significant presence in snow removal equipment since 1995. We are known for building tough, productive, and reliable equipment, including cultivators, shredders, cover crop seeders, NH3 monitors, and a variety of snow and ice removal tools. With the recent acquisition of Daniels Plows, we are further strengthening our commitment to high-quality snow removal solutions. We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation to join our team. This role is responsible for product engineering, encompassing material, design, detailing, manufacturability, product quality, competitiveness, and profitability. The Mechanical Engineer will partner with Operations on manufacturing process development and collaborate closely with Marketing and Sales to ensure we provide the best possible products to our customers. This position is located at our facility in Mankato, MN.

• Skilled at modeling and detailing with SolidWorks (AutoCAD skills are a plus)
• Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, and problem solving.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years of practical experience

Responsibilities

• Support new product development and product improvements of agricultural and snow removal equipment.
• Design/Create 3-D models, assemblies, and 2-D prints as needed to validate concepts, detail designs, and communicate design intent.
• Complete detailed assembly prints with full component bill of materials (BOMs) for new designs.
• Submit engineering change requests (ECR) to release new parts and BOMs for product release.
• Take concepts to production by managing engineering project activities and priorities while coordinating with sales, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality.
• Work closely with sourcing to develop complete costs for new or modified products.
• Support customers and sales team with precise information on product installation requirements and application notes.
• Provide input on technical content of product literature ensuring accuracy of performance data, configurations, maintenance and operating instructions.
• Provide frequent updates for manager on all product development activities including maintaining project schedule and status.
