About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer designs, develops, investigates, and specifies mechanical controls, systems, equipment, and devices for manufacturing, testing and facility management. This role involves supplying technical support to the manufacturing team, as well as field service and maintenance operations for equipment operation. The engineer will perform engineering calculations, component sizing, component selection, machine design, and document control. Involvement in concept definition, system design, component selection, testing, verification, and validation of prototypes and final products is expected. The position requires interaction with procurement, manufacturing assembly, and operations. Collaboration with customers and suppliers to define equipment specifications, resolve fabrication and quality issues, and support equipment deployment is also a key part of the role. The engineer will use SolidWorks and CAD for design and drafting, and prepare project documentation including risk assessments, operational procedures, test plans, presentations, and technical manuals. Responsibilities also include researching, developing, designing, evaluating, and implementing mechanical systems for welding and repair welding of line pipe, applying knowledge of Induction Welding. The role directs engineering and maintenance personnel in mechanical functions related to pipe manufacturing and plant/equipment maintenance, evaluates operational systems, and recommends design modifications. Guidance will be provided to mechanical technicians for repair, installation, and maintenance of various mechanical and hydraulic components, pneumatic equipment, systems, instruments, and communications. CAD/CAM knowledge is used to supply drawings for maintenance and operating personnel. The engineer directs the installation of mechanical equipment and provides technical data to vendors and suppliers for improved operation controls and equipment. Monitoring of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical equipment for safe and efficient operation, and recommending changes for continuous improvement and maximum plant efficiency are also key duties.
