About The Position

We need a Mechanical Engineer who thinks from first principles, questions convention, and wants the weight of owning the outcome. Someone who can design it, stand behind it, solve for it in the field, and build the runway as they go. The infrastructure is ambitious. The people behind it should be too.

Requirements

• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• 7+ years designing mechanical systems for data centers, industrial, or other mission-critical facilities.
• Working knowledge of IMC, IPC, IECC, NFPA 13, ASME B31, and ASHRAE TC 9.9, backed by hands-on experience with chilled-water plants and liquid-cooling architectures.
• Comfortable reading and redlining P&IDs, single-line diagrams, and construction documents without help.
• Experience working directly with contractors, vendors, and construction teams through commissioning.

Nice To Haves

• 10+ years and multi-site U.S. data center delivery experience.
• CFD or thermal-hydraulic modeling (AFT Fathom, ANSYS, or similar).
• Background at a company that self-performs its own builds rather than relying on a GC.
• Experience integrating with BAS/controls systems.

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical system design end-to-end: chilled-water plants, air-cooled and direct-liquid-cooling (DLC) systems, piping, and fire protection.
• Take professional responsibility for calculations, drawings, and specifications as Engineer of Record.
• Stay close to construction and commissioning, catch conflicts before they become delays, and sign off only when it's actually right.
• Push on cost, constructability, and third-party engineering deliverables without cutting the corners that matter.
