About The Position

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our Building and Places Team. This is an entry-level position and is based out of Orlando, FL. You will be assisting senior engineers with mechanical design, analysis, and technical documentation, developing and updating CAD drawings and 3D models, and performing basic engineering calculations and design evaluations. You will also support equipment selections, troubleshooting, and performance assessments, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to complete engineering projects, and prepare technical reports, specifications, and engineering documentation. Ensuring compliance with safety standards, industry codes, and company procedures, contributing to process improvement and cost-reduction initiatives, and participating in multi-disciplinary coordination meetings are also key aspects of this role. You will maintain project records and provide engineering support throughout project lifecycles.

Requirements

• 0–2 years of relevant engineering experience. Internships, co-op assignments, academic projects, or laboratory experience may be accepted in lieu of professional experience.
• Basic understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, mechanics of materials, and machine design.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related engineering discipline from an accredited institution.
• Experience using CAD software such as Revit or AutoCAD.
• Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Ability to perform fundamental engineering calculations and analyses.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Understanding of industry standards, safety requirements, and quality processes.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with engineering documentation and technical report preparation preferred.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT/FE) certification preferred but not typically required.
