Perform technical analysis associated with the assigned task area for problems with specific objectives and requiring investigation of a limited number of variables. Some exercise of judgment is required on task details and in making recommendations on technical alternatives, component design or selection, and/or adaptation to meet assigned requirements. Research and select materials based on customer’s strength requirements or tooling requirements. Create drawings from 3D Models in accordance with ASME standards. Reverse engineer parts and assemblies using standard Machine Shop Inspection tools and equipment to fill in missing or incorrect data in drawings. Manage projects and coordinate all procurement and fabrication to meet the program cost and schedule requirements. Utilize derived requirements to design aircraft components and perform FEA to prove sufficient strength. Select vendors based on capabilities and manage them throughout project’s timeframe. Adhere to quality assurance procedures and processes (ISO9001, AS9100D, and NADCAP). Support continuous improvement. Write detailed build, assembly, inspection, and production instructions to assist the production team. Identify root cause and corrective action (RCCA) for discrepancies and deficiency. Utilize the lean manufacturing approach to make the manufacturing process more efficient. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications. Support organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests. Perform duties under supervision of senior engineer(s). Capable of following, performing, and recording the results of the execution of a test plan. Other duties as assigned.
