About The Position

SpecPro Sustainment and Environmental, LLC (SSE) is a government contracting and consulting firm supporting military installations and federal agencies across the nation. SSE is seeking a Mechanical Engineer (Mid-Level) to support our ongoing mission with the 647 Civil Engineering Squadron (CES) at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Hawaii. The Mechanical Engineer will lead and support mechanical Activity Management Plan (AMP) efforts for HVAC, plumbing, water, wastewater, natural gas, and other mechanical infrastructure. This position will analyze Sustainment Management System (SMS) data, develop lifecycle investment strategies, identify energy optimization opportunities, and translate asset deficiencies into actionable project requirements.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from an accredited institution within the United States.
Minimum of 5 years of mechanical engineering experience, including at least 3 years of military facility/infrastructure experience.
Experience with military facility and infrastructure mechanical engineering, utilities, HVAC, plumbing, or asset-management programs.
Ability to evaluate mechanical-system condition data and support lifecycle planning, risk mitigation, and project prioritization.
Familiarity with Air Force engineering systems and tools such as BUILDER SMS, Utilities SMS, NexGen IT/TRIRIGA, or similar platforms.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary stakeholders.
Must be able to successfully complete the required Tier 1 background investigation and obtain/maintain a Common Access Card (CAC).

Responsibilities

Analyze BUILDER SMS and Utilities SMS data to forecast degradation and lifecycle replacement requirements for mechanical assets.
Develop and maintain Mechanical Sub-AMP documentation, including 5-year and 10-year mechanical infrastructure investment strategies.
Evaluate the condition and capacity of water, wastewater, natural gas, HVAC, plumbing, and related mechanical systems to support Utilities and Facilities AMPs.
Identify energy conservation and optimization opportunities and support lifecycle and return-on-investment analyses.
Translate Mechanical Sub-AMP deficiencies into project requirements, including DD Form 1391 inputs, statements of work, and cost-estimate support.
Conduct required physical inventories and compliance inspections and coordinate with multiple Civil Engineering flights, mission partners, community leaders, and design agencies.
