ASML develops lithography machines that enable leading chipmakers to produce smaller, more powerful microchips. The Mechanical Development department designs and develops the high-precision mechanical systems used in these machines. This position is based on-site in Wilton, Connecticut, where ASML has research and development and manufacturing operations. The team designs and produces subsystem modules that are shipped to ASML’s headquarters in Veldhoven, Netherlands, for integration into complete lithography machines. The Mechanical Engineer specifies, designs, develops, realizes, integrates, and tests modules and tools in collaboration with cross-functional partners and suppliers. Working with system architects and senior engineers in a multidisciplinary project team, the engineer develops concepts, conducts engineering analysis, builds and tests prototypes, creates detailed CAD designs and engineering drawings, and delivers work within system specifications, cost targets, and project schedules. The role leads complex technical design work within the discipline or owns a module-level area involving contributions from multiple engineers. It requires autonomy on complex tasks, balancing quality and timely delivery, and interfacing with suppliers or customers as part of a broader team. The position may require access to controlled technology under the U.S. Export Administration Regulations. Candidates must be legally authorized to access that technology before beginning work; business needs may require selection of candidates who are immediately eligible.
