About The Position

NovaSensor, an Amphenol company, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to contribute to the development of new prototype and product designs for emerging business opportunities. This role involves creating detailed product documentation, generating information for technical design reviews, and interfacing with customers, vendors, and internal teams. The engineer will define assembly line and equipment requirements, propose innovative design techniques, and collaborate on building and testing prototypes. Responsibilities also include designing test fixtures, performing failure analyses, supporting legacy products, and conducting benchmarking to maintain competitive standards.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a directly related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in a Mechanical Engineering role.
  • Two (2) years of experience in FEA experience using ANSYS for modeling and part design.
  • Two (2) years of experience in product design for medical applications.
  • Two (2) years of experience using SolidWorks to develop concepts and detailed engineering drawings.
  • Two (2) years of experience conducting tolerance stack-up analyses.
  • Two (2) years of experience with FMEA’s, DFSS & DFM tools and implementation.
  • Two (2) years of experience performing failure modes and effects analysis FMEAs.
  • Two (2) years of experience developing production control/sampling plans for product performance conformance.
  • Two (2) years of experience developing test protocols for product qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of new prototype and product designs aimed at exploring emerging business opportunities.
  • Create detailed product documentation following standardized release procedures.
  • Generate essential information for comprehensive technical design reviews.
  • Interface with customers, vendors, and internal cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery of project milestones.
  • Define assembly line and equipment requirements.
  • Propose innovative design techniques and processes to align with evolving industry demands.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to build and test initial prototype concepts and assemblies.
  • Collect performance data for design validation and product release readiness.
  • Design test fixtures to evaluate new prototypes.
  • Perform root cause and failure analyses to identify and implement necessary design changes.
  • Support legacy products already in production.
  • Conduct periodic benchmarking of designs, materials, and processes to maintain competitive standards and drive continuous improvement.
