About The Position
Leidos has an opening for a Mechanical Engineer. The Mechanical Engineer will provide engineering support to US Army programs at Picatinny Arsenal, NJ to include development of new materials and concepts in propulsion for enhanced performance .
Requirements
- BS Mechanical Engineering plus 0+ years of experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of engineering software (design and modeling and simulation) tools
- US Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance
Nice To Haves
- Prior hands-on experience with AM and knowledge of energetic materials
Responsibilities
- Responsible for conducting and supporting R&D activities for the development of novel materials of interest to the US Army
- Develop and demonstrate novel technologies for the additive manufacturing (AM) of energetic materials
- Expected to develop knowledge and understanding of energetics and perform various testing and analyses to characterize materials using state of the art methods for chemical and physical behavior.
