About The Position

This role offers the opportunity to own mechanism design from initial concept through build, test, and customer deployment. You will work on a wide range of engineering problems including electro-mechanical design, fluid systems, test and validation, and electrical thermal management design. The position involves designing robotics solutions to address humanitarian concerns and transform the relationship with food. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team of perception engineers, controls, mechanical design, and software architecture. Travel to industry customers on the east and west US coasts, as well as Mexico, to visit aquaculture farms and boats is also part of the role.

Requirements

• B.S./M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, related technical field, or equivalent practical experience
• Background (experience, portfolio, side projects, coursework) in physical prototyping, mechanism design and misc. mechanical engineering projects
• Experience with CAD tools (NX preferred)
• Hands-on experience with machining, fabrication methods and rapid prototyping
• Ability to work onsite full time in El Segundo office in Los Angeles
• Minimum experience of 2 years, but more preferred

• Exposure to robotics or embedded systems a strong plus
