Mechanical Engineer 1 (Entry-Level) - Mission Critical
About The Position
This is an entry-level design engineering position that offers a variety of challenging opportunities in Mechanical Engineering and will provide an excellent opportunity for career advancement. Support mechanical design engineering efforts on multi-disciplined project design team Responsible for production of engineering calculations/analyses, design drawings and engineering reports Apply mechanical engineering expertise to the design and qualification of structures, systems, and components Produce Procurement Specifications and Construction Specifications (Mechanical sections) Attend project meetings and perform field walk downs.
Requirements
- Must be a U.S. Citizen; Dual citizenship with a country other than the U.S. does not qualify.
- Must be able to obtain US Government security clearance
- BSME degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program with a strong academic background and interest in thermodynamics, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, machine design, or thermal systems
- Knowledge of the practical application of mechanical engineering and technology including applying systems, principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to a project design
- Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of analyses, technical plans, fabrication drawings, and models
- Assignments require the preparation of calculations and reports, and excellent technical report writing skills are essential
- Strong interest in numerical computations and problem solving
- Proficiency with MS Office applications
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Nice To Haves
- Related engineering internship or co-op work experience
- MSME degree preferred
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam, and designation as an Engineer in Training
- Experience in writing and providing support documentation for Mechanical Engineering calculations
- Programming or scripting (e.g., Python, MATLAB, Mathcad, advanced Excel)
- Experience with CAD software (e.g., Solidworks, Inventor, Microstation, AutoCAD)
- Experience with Finite Element Analysis or advanced engineering software (e.g., ANSYS, AutoPIPE, Datacor/AFT flow simulation)
- Interest in learning and effectively using emerging technologies where relevant to their role
- Experience with AI, automation, programming, or similar technologies is valued where relevant but is not required unless specifically identified elsewhere in the job description.
