Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical field is required
  • Experience using CAD software (SolidWorks, Pro/ENGINEER, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Experience with related Stress, Thermal, and Air Flow simulation packages.
  • Hands-on fabrication and assembly experience.
  • Comfortable using various hand tools, power tools, and metal fabrication equipment.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to conceive & propose timely solutions to complex mechanical design problems while working closely with RF/Antenna Engineers and other disciplines and remaining flexible throughout the design evolution process.
  • Highly Motivated, self-starting, ready to go above and beyond.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on experience with Rapid Prototyping and working closely with in-house and outside manufacturers.
  • Machine shop competency.
  • Understanding of spherical near-field ranges, including their setup and operations.
  • GD&T certification or recent training.

Responsibilities

  • Support mechanical efforts for multiple RF and antenna focused projects and activities while simultaneously working closely with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Design, model, and analyze mechanical structures for antenna systems, including reflectors, phased arrays, and supporting components.
  • Work alongside RF/antenna engineers to develop and integrate sophisticated waveguide assemblies, transitions, and housings with tight mechanical and RF tolerances.
  • Complete prototype designs and engineering specifications and manage the outsourcing of metalwork and components.
  • Generate detailed drawing packages for manufacturing and assembly to ASME standards.
  • Perform functional responsibilities with a high degree of independence.
