About The Position

The Mechanical Engineer designs, develops, and continuously improves conveyor and packaging machinery systems. The role includes creating engineering drawings, selecting components, supporting production, and ensuring products meet performance, quality, and safety standards. The engineer works cross-functionally to support product development and implementation, customer-specific customizations, and product enhancements.

The position is with Sentry Equipment, a subsidiary of ProMach’s Systems business, which provides conveyor equipment and container-handling machinery and integrates packaging equipment and conveying systems into efficient, cost-effective plans.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field preferred.
• 2 or more years of experience in mechanical design preferred.
• Proficiency with CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Inventor.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, drive mechanisms, pneumatics, and materials.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in conveyor or packaging machinery manufacturing.
• Experience with FEA, tolerance analysis, and mechanical calculations.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop conveyor and packaging equipment components and systems.
• Create and maintain detailed CAD models, assembly drawings, and bills of materials.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability, functionality, and cost-effectiveness.
• Assist with prototype builds, product testing, and system validation.
• Select materials, components, and mechanical systems based on engineering principles and performance requirements.
• Modify and improve existing products based on feedback, testing results, and performance metrics.
• Work with the assembly team to resolve mechanical issues and support installation activities.
• Ensure compliance with applicable industry and safety standards.
