About The Position
The client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a direct hire, long-term role in the power distribution industry. The position is on-site and requires the engineer to be responsible for the design and coordination of low and medium-voltage switchgear, power distribution equipment, and control enclosures.
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 3-5 years of mechanical engineering experience preferably with switchgear or electrical enclosure design
- Experience with sheet metal and enclosure-based designs
Responsibilities
- Design and coordination of low and medium-voltage switchgear, power distribution equipment and control enclosures.
- Coordinate EPLAN layouts with 3D models to ensure electrical intent is mechanically feasible.
- Evaluate design for manufacturability, installation access and maintenance clearance.
- Create models in Solidworks from electrical schematics and mechanical requirements.
