SLB New Energy & Industrial is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join a growing multidisciplinary engineering team. This individual will support the design and delivery of complex mechanical systems for mission-critical data centers projects. The ideal candidate is technically strong, collaborative, and interested in growing into a project leadership role while working on some of the most challenging and high-profile projects in the industry.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
5+ years of experience in HVAC or mechanical system design
Strong experience with: HVAC system design, layout, and load calculations
Strong experience with: Equipment selection and mechanical system sizing
Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, IECC, etc.)
Experience with CAD/BIM tools (Revit, AutoCAD, or similar)
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams
Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Experience reviewing vendor drawings and technical submittals preferred
Data center, mission-critical, or large-scale facility experience
Experience with fire protection systems or NFPA standards
Exposure to modular or prefabricated systems
PE license or progress toward licensure

Responsibilities

Design HVAC, hydronic, ventilation, plumbing, and mechanical systems for data center projects.
Perform load calculations, equipment selection, energy analysis, and system sizing.
Develop construction documents including plans, specifications, schedules, and details.
Coordinate with electrical, plumbing, structural, architectural, and technology teams throughout project execution.
Participate in design reviews, site visits, construction administration, and commissioning activities.
Review shop drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change orders.
Interface directly with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
Support project managers with scheduling, budgeting, and technical coordination.
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, standards, and client requirements.
Mentor junior engineers and designers as experience allows.
