About The Position

Lincoln Electric Automation is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to play a key role in the mechanical design, development, and startup of automated manufacturing systems. This position supports innovative solutions such as robotic welding cells, advanced tooling and fixtures, and integrated automation equipment used by manufacturers around the world. The Mechanical Engineer will participate in the design, development, maintenance, and documentation of the Robotic automation system products. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in machine design and drafting for technical projects, is well organized, motivated, communicates well with others, and is comfortable working to established project timelines. If you enjoy hands-on engineering, collaborative problem solving, and seeing complex systems come to life on the plant floor, this role offers a highly visible and rewarding opportunity. This is an on-site position in Cleveland, OH. We are flexible to a hybrid work schedule for this position with three days in office and two days remote.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.
3-5 + years of experience in industrial automation, robotic systems, custom machinery, or a similar environment.
Must be able to create cost effective designs.
Proficient in Solid Works.
Experience with workflow, PDM, and revision control concepts and packages.
Identify project risks, assumptions, constraints, and unresolved issues early and communicate recommended mitigation strategies.
Coordinate mechanical engineering activities with electrical, software, controls, robotics, production, service, and project management teams.
Participate in design reviews and contribute to system-level technical decisions.
Support build, commissioning, startup, and field service activities as required.
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work with all levels in the organization and with external customers
Must have ability to work well independently, as well as part of a team.
Must be quality conscious, highly motivated, and creative.

Nice To Haves

Travel as needed to support project execution. Up to 15% possible (5% is normal)

Responsibilities

Mechanical design for robotic automation products and projects, including system layouts, tooling, and new product development.
Implement design changes and product enhancements as directed by senior engineers.
Maintain and modify documentation of existing systems to ensure they meet customer need.
Create system and product documentation including customer layout approvals, assembly floor drawings, fabrication drawings, and manuals as required.
Interact with internal and external customers during the design process, as well as post sale support when required.
Support quote team in proper estimation of projects for mechanical and fabricated content.
Support engineering documentation sharing for quote group, sales, subsidiaries, and customers.
Ability to work and communicate as part of a team that spans multiple geographic locations.
Other duties as assigned by manager.
