Mechanical Engineer 3

Lam Research•Fremont, CA
•$86,000 - $192,000

About The Position

As a Mechanical Engineer in Lam Research’s Global Products Group, you will design and define mechanical and electro-mechanical systems for etch and deposition products. You will support systems through the full life cycle, from concept through productization, including conceptualization, CAD modeling, development, and testing and validation. The role includes feasibility studies, detailed design and fabrication guidance, and supplying design information that shapes technology packaging. You will design components made from metals, ceramics, quartz, plastics, and advanced coatings; perform engineering analyses; and develop studies and test plans to characterize and validate performance. You will document designs according to SEMI and Lam standards and industry best practices, communicate design intent and results in reports and presentations, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to produce high-quality, cost-optimized solutions that meet requirements. You will also provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers. Lam describes its work-location models as including On-site Flex and Virtual Flex, with varying balances of onsite and remote work. The posting does not specify which model applies to this role. The listed salary range is $86,000 to $192,000 for applicants who reside or work onsite in California’s San Francisco Bay Area; actual offers depend on factors including location, level, education, training, skills, and experience.
