Mechanical Engineer
About The Position
Arconic is currently in search of a Mechanical Engineer to join our Global Rolled Products Operations business unit in Lancaster, PA. Arconic Lancaster has been a leader in the aluminum manufacturing industry and a strong community partner for over 75 years. The Mechanical Engineer will provide reliability improvements to safely meet the Lancaster Mill business plan by providing support to production department to achieve plant goals. The position reports directly to the Operations Superintendent but has a dotted line reporting relationship to the Engineering department on project work. At our 1.3 million square-foot plant, we produce a variety of products--from painted aluminum sheet to blanked aluminum products. What we produce here is found in a wide assortment of end products, such as truck cabs, cookware, and construction materials. We also produce brazing sheet used by auto manufacturers to make evaporator and condenser components. Over 400 customers use our product for a variety of consumer goods. Responsibilities
- Provide engineering services to safely meet the Lancaster Mill business plan by providing engineering support to production, maintenance and administrative departments to achieve plant goals.
- Coordinate all phases of assigned projects from concept, scope development, written specifications, bid solicitations and related bid meetings, equipment and facilities engineering/design, manufacturing and installation through final start-up, acceptance and project close-out.
- Assist production, technical and maintenance with various types of equipment and process issues from an engineering perspective, particularly in the incumbent’s specialized area involving mechanical equipment and related systems.
