About The Position

SAIC is seeking a skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to design, analyze, and develop mechanical systems and solutions. The role involves designing static and dynamic systems, equipment, and packaging; evaluating mechanical performance; and developing new designs and improvements in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The engineer will work with cross-functional teams and drafting teams, review engineering drawings, and support prototype fabrication and design implementation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Two or more years of professional experience in mechanical design.
• Demonstrated design experience, including hands-on work with SolidWorks.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze static and dynamic mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging designs.
• Ensure designs meet mechanical performance criteria, including load and vibration requirements.
• Develop innovative solutions for new system designs and drive continuous improvement for existing systems.
• Conduct feasibility studies, performance testing, and risk assessments for new and modified designs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure designs meet customer needs and project requirements.
• Provide critical design information to drafting teams for documentation.
• Review detailed engineering drawings for specification compliance.
• Support prototype fabrication and direct support personnel as needed throughout design implementation.
