About The Position
We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer with test technician experience to join our team in San Diego, CA. This is a contract position expected to last at least 1 year, with a total of 40 hours per week. The role involves a variety of responsibilities related to testing, assembly, and documentation of electro-mechanical systems and test apparatus.
Requirements
- 1+ years of experience with functional testing
- Experience assembling electro-mechanical systems, building electronic circuits, and setting up test environments (Using hand/power tools, soldering, setting up sensors, and test equipment)
- Ability to troubleshoot and debug
- Ability to write and maintain technical documents

Responsibilities
- Procure parts, assemble and validate test apparatus.
- Test and maintain test equipment.
- Conduct manual functional testing, regression testing, and system integration testing, and report issues found during the test life cycle.
- Support continuous improvement of the current test process.
- Layout and organize lab space(s).
- Track and maintain calibration of equipment.
- Maintenance requirements, schedule and maintain equipment in good working order.
- Monitor inventory of test equipment and test samples.
- Perform feasibility and bench top tests.
- Procure supplies and equipment as needed to support ongoing projects, create purchase requisitions, maintain inventory of supplies.
- Create and maintain technical documentation such as protocols, SAP records, lab test records etc.
