About The Position

Mission Technologies, a division of HII, is hiring multiple Mechanical Engineers to support operations at our Alexandria, VA location. As a Mechanical Engineer you will contribute to the design, development and engineering of mechanical systems for complex facilities across domestic and international projects. The following positions are available: Lead Mechanical Engineer      Salary Range:  $143,140 - $224,000 Senior Mechanical Engineer    Salary Range:  $102,724 - $113,000 Mechanical Engineer               Salary Range:    $84,285 - $133,000

Requirements

  • Lead Mechanical Engineer (Engineer Mechanical 5):  15 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 13 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or 10 years relevant experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience working as a Mechanical Engineer in a commercial environment.
  • Experience implementing Building Automation and System
  • Experience with OCONUS installation service and maintenance
  • Senior Mechanical Engineer (Engineer Mechanical 3):  5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years experience working as a Mechanical Engineer in a commercial environment.
  • Experience implementing Building Automation and System
  • Mechanical Engineer (Engineer Mechanical 2):  2 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; or 0 years experience with Masters in related field.
  • Minimum of two (2) years experience working as a Mechanical Engineer in a commercial environment.
  • All levels must possess an active TS/SCI clearance
  • Passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam
  • Experience utilizing 3-dimensional drafting tools such as CAD, Solidworks, and Revit
  • Experience working with other development contractors and trades to include non-traditional applications

Responsibilities

  • Researches, plans, designs, verifies, validates and develops mechanical and/or electromechanical products and systems, such as metals, instruments, controls, plastics, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, resonance, hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy.
  • Recommends various technology options or approaches for system, processes, facility or program improvements in terms of safety, performance, efficiency or costs.
  • May be responsible for the transfer from R and D to manufacturing.
