About The Position

Sila is a next-generation battery materials company working to advance clean energy through the development and manufacture of materials for lithium-ion batteries. The Mechanical Engineer will join the Equipment Engineering team in Alameda and support the design of manufacturing-scale reactors, bridging research and development concepts with capital project execution. The role contributes to the development and design lifecycle for Sila’s silicon-carbon anode manufacturing technology, with a focus on manufacturability, operability, reliability, maintainability, safety, and functional design to enable standardized, scalable deployment of reactor systems. The engineer will work independently and cross-functionally on reactor design and development, analysis, engineering documentation, and project execution. The role spans the project lifecycle, from design and vendor or fabricator coordination through factory acceptance testing and field installation verification. Travel up to 15% is required. The posted starting base pay range is $107,000–$136,000; actual base pay depends on factors including education, experience, and skills. Base pay is part of a total rewards package that can include benefits, perks, and equity.
