About The Position

CHA Consulting, Inc. is seeking an Entry Level Mechanical Engineer to join our Gas Team at a client site in Spring Valley, NY. This role will contribute to the development of resilient, forward-thinking gas infrastructure, offering hands-on experience, collaboration with skilled professionals, and a strong foundation in utility engineering. The position focuses on applying engineering knowledge to critical energy systems, supporting safer and more dependable gas networks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
  • No experience required; however prior internships and/or relevant coursework are preferred.
  • Strong theoretical foundation and familiarity with engineering software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative team.
  • Participation in professional engineering society/organization preferred.
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of technical solutions for crucial transmission and distribution infrastructure for gas utilities.
  • Support senior engineers in preparing technical reports, contract documents, and cost estimates.
  • Perform calculations and design tasks using industry standards, regulatory guidelines, and best practices for optimizing installation, maintenance, and system reliability.
  • Join field assignments with senior staff to gain hands-on experience in assessment, planning, and rehabilitation of gas pipelines and related infrastructure.
