SLSS Mechanical Engineer

SLB•Houston, TX

About The Position

This role involves conducting engineering activities for Well Access products, ensuring delivery within budget and timelines. The engineer will provide technical guidance for innovative and cost-effective solutions, resolve operational issues, and identify technology development opportunities to improve efficiency and safety. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with industry standards, mentoring junior engineers, and generating system engineering documents. The role also requires analyzing, designing, developing, and sustaining assets/products/kits, particularly intervention equipment, with a focus on analytical calculations and computational models like finite element analysis. The engineer will also contribute to standards such as ISO 13628-7, ISO 13625-5, API 6A, API 17G, and API 5CT, and interface with manufacturing shops to resolve non-conformances. Providing updates to stakeholders, authoring reports, and creating training materials are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor, Masters, PHD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace or similar
  • 4- 6 years' experience with emphasis in product design/development
  • Prior experience working with analytical and computational packages (eg. Finite Element Analysis package, CAD packages)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in well intervention equipment and/or operations is a plus
  • Oil & Gas, Subsea, pressure vessels
