About The Position

IMA Group is a global leader in the development and production of automatic machines for the processing and packaging of pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food, tea and coffee products. IMA Life North America, a company within the IMA Group, specializes in providing aseptic processing and freeze-drying solutions for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. This role involves applying knowledge of pressure vessel design (ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1), designing machinery with hydraulics and pneumatics, conducting stress and FEA analyses, and working with stainless steel fabrication, piping, flow, heat transfer, instrumentation, controls, and refrigeration systems. The position requires developing and comprehending large industrial equipment for pharmaceutical applications, managing projects, monitoring costs, interacting with customers and internal teams, and supporting equipment start-up and validation. Adherence to SHEQ (safety, health, environment, and quality) requirements is essential.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, civil, or related engineering discipline.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage your own workload and that of drafting resources.
  • Proficiency in computer tools and drawing software.
  • Ability to work independently with efficiency.
  • Strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with refrigeration systems and heat transfer applications.
  • Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Familiarity with vacuum systems and stainless steel fabrication.
  • Understanding of electrical distribution, automation, and control systems.

Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of pressure vessel design, including ASME Sec. VIII Div. 1 standards, in the design of capital process equipment.
  • Design machinery and systems involving hydraulics, pneumatics, and aseptic process machine production.
  • Conduct stress analyses and finite element analyses (FEA) and work with stainless steel fabrication, piping, flow, heat transfer, instrumentation, controls, and refrigeration systems.
  • Develop and comprehend large industrial equipment for pharmaceutical and related applications.
  • Manage projects, monitor cost variances, and interact effectively with customers and internal teams.
  • Support equipment start-up and validation activities.
  • Promote and adhere to SHEQ (safety, health, environment, and quality) requirements for yourself, your department, and all contractors and visitors.
