About The Position

This position is for a Mechanical Engineer responsible for the continuous improvement of current products and the creation of new products. The role involves 3D mechanical design, documentation of base equipment design, analysis, and testing. The engineer will collaborate with the SurePoint team to define new product requirements, manage product changes, and resolve issues. A key aspect of the role is to advance engineering practices to better support manufacturing and improve product documentation throughout the design and manufacturing process. The position also requires working with vendors for product selection and improvement, providing documentation for Product Validation and Verification (PVV) testing, and offering field support and troubleshooting when necessary or for learning opportunities. The role is a full-time, salaried, exempt position and reports to the Mechanical Engineering Lead. While the preferred location is Atwood, KS, work from the Manhattan, KS location is also possible. The position does not have supervisory responsibilities but requires being a collaborative member of the SurePoint Ag Team, contributing to overall goals through teamwork and communication.

Responsibilities

• Engineering for continuous improvement of current products and creation of new products.
• 3D mechanical design, documentation of base equipment design, analysis, and testing.
• Work with the whole SurePoint team to define new product requirements, product changes and resolve issues.
• Advance engineering practices to drive manufacturing and provide better documentation of products from design through manufacturing.
• Work with technical publications team to provide necessary drawings, pictures, and written content for operator’s manuals, installation instructions and other service materials.
• Work with vendors for product selection, improvement, and steel fabrication.
• Provide documentation and procedures for final PVV (Product Validation and Verification) Testing.
• Field Support and Troubleshooting when needed or if an opportunity to learn exists.
• Provide support and assistance in achieving the overall goals and objectives of SurePoint Ag through collaboration, teamwork and communication.
