About The Position

Dephy is seeking a Mechanical Engineer proficient in SolidWorks to support its wearable robotics team on a short-term, part-time contract. The role involves producing production-ready drawings and assemblies and applying sound GD&T practices. The contract is approximately 25 hours total over a duration of 2–3 months. The position is remote and open to candidates anywhere in the U.S. who work through their own LLC or business entity. Candidates who do not work through an LLC must be based in Massachusetts. The start date is ASAP. Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.; immigration sponsorship is not available. The hourly rate is $50+ based on experience.

Requirements

• Proficiency in SolidWorks, including part modeling, assemblies, and drawings.
• Solid working knowledge of GD&T.
• A degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
• A portfolio of relevant work is required with the application.
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.; the position is not eligible for immigration sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with FEA using SolidWorks Simulation or similar.
• SolidWorks surfacing.
• Operating through your own LLC or business entity.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed 2D drawings from 3D SolidWorks models.
• Build and manage basic assemblies.
• Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to ensure manufacturability and clear design intent.
• Collaborate with the team to review and revise designs as needed.
