About The Position

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS) is seeking Engineering, Professional, Technical, and Administrative support personnel as part of their staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy at the Y‑12 National Security Complex in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, and the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, Texas. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a premier government contractor. The employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from Y-12 staff. AIS provides pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions. Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy. This position is contingent upon contract award and funding. Applicants selected may be offered but cannot begin work until funding has been confirmed.

Requirements

ABET accredited Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 10 years of experience
Ability to obtain/maintain a DOE Q clearance
Pre-employment Drug Screen
Medical Exam(s)
Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy
Participation in an ongoing random drug testing program

Nice To Haves

Professional Engineer license
Experience leading multi-discipline machine design efforts
Producing build-to-print equipment fabrication packages
CREO parametric experience

Responsibilities

Estimating, specifying, designing, procurement and construction support of specialty and first of a kind equipment such as gloveboxes, furnaces, high vacuum systems and metal casting/machining equipment.
Create design concepts using Pro/Engineer (CREO) CAD software and topology optimization software as appropriate.
Provide Mechanical Engineer support for major equipment.
