About The Position

Encorus Group is seeking a full-time Mechanical Engineer for our Springville or Depew, NY offices. In this role, you will perform a variety of mechanical design duties on assigned projects, including HVAC systems, piping and vessel design, and equipment selection such as pumps, fans, and motors. You will support projects from concept through completion, working both independently and collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.

Requirements

  • 4–10 years of experience in mechanical engineering and design.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or EIT with plans to obtain licensure.
  • Proficiency with engineering and design software such as AutoCAD, MathCAD, Trace, SolidWorks Simulation, or similar tools.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including HVAC, piping, and equipment design.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed.
  • Ability to comply with company drug screening, including pre-employment testing.
  • Ability to pass criminal background check in accordance with client requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform mechanical system design including HVAC, piping, and process systems.
  • Prepare and review design drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documentation.
  • Coordinate design work with internal staff and other design professionals, including architects and engineers of other disciplines.
  • Assist project managers with correspondence, estimates, schedules, and material lists.
  • Apply company and industry standards to the preparation of calculations, drawings, and specifications.
  • Perform redlines of existing drawings and support project file coordination.
  • Work independently on projects of moderate size and complexity; support senior engineers on larger or more complex efforts.
  • Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, construction teams, and clients to address mechanical design issues.
  • Review deliverables to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with project requirements.
  • Mentor and support entry-level engineers and technical staff.
