About The Position

Pro QC International is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for a 1099 contract role in Irving, Texas. This position involves final and in-process inspection of machined components and assemblies, verification against contractual requirements, and proof of functionality. The role requires conducting quality control inspections of in-process and pre-shipment products, providing detailed reports, and utilizing MS Word and Excel for documentation. The project duration is currently estimated at 6 man-days, with potential for variation based on client needs. Requirements

• Mechanical Engineering Degree
• Experience with Visual/Dimensional/Welding inspection.
• Knowledgeable on Metrology, know how to handle Calipers / Micrometers, thread/plug gauges, occasional optical comparator use
• Experience with Aerospace machining/assembly inspection experience
• Experience with Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) in industrial equipment, machinery, components, products and materials.
• Experience as a quality inspector, or applicable manufacturing experience in specified industries (CQE preferred)
• Experience with ANSI Z1.4 sample size determination and AQLs (training available)
• Ability to lift at least 20lbs as necessary
• Must be able to use MS Word and Excel to submit documents and reports within the time specified (usually within 24 hours after job completion)
• Ability to work well in independent and group problem-solving situations
• Ability to maintain a positive, professional disposition when adapting to occasional disruptions and unexpected events
• Flexibility in scheduling

Responsibilities

• Final and in-process inspection of machined components and assemblies.
• Check for completeness and verification against contractual requirements.
• Proof of functionality by either a conventional function test or simulation.
• Final inspection of equipment and components.
• Conducts quality control inspections of in-process and pre-shipment products at local facilities.
• Inspection duties include visual (workmanship) and dimensional evaluation, functional testing as applicable (measurements, assembly, etc.), packaging & labeling verification, etc.
• Provides timely, detailed reports and photographic evidence of product, packaging, labeling, defects noted, etc.
