About The Position

The Airborne Radar Design Department is currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Subsystem & Power Products Engineering section in El Segundo, CA. The person in this position will be involved in electronics packaging design for Airborne Radar Subsystems including AESA Antenna, Receiver, Exciter, Processor and Power Supply subsystems. Tasks will include mechanical engineering support throughout the hardware life cycle, including concept development, preliminary and detail design, familiarity with precision machining techniques, transition to production, production support and installation. Typical technologies include electronic enclosures, thermal heat exchangers (coldwalls), machined components, RF microwave assemblies, and power converter units, all with challenging design constraints including Size, Weight, Power, and design to Cost. The initial assignment will likely focus on the engineering Production Support of an airborne military radar.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) degree or a minimum of 3+ years’ prior relevant experience
  • Experience with CREO or similar 3D solid modeling software.
  • Experience with mechanical design, development, documentation, fabrication, assembly, and test/delivery of military electronic products
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
  • Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support on major programs and interface with Lead Mechanical Engineers and Chief Engineers to support design objectives.
  • Frequently lead small teams through design development.
  • Ensure that the established procedures are followed in the creation of technical data packages while meeting all program design objectives.
  • Provide support to suppliers who are fabricating components and assemblies.
  • Maintain positive relationships & satisfaction with leadership (Engineering and Program Management).
