This role requires extensive experience in the design and/or operation of PWR and/or BWR plants, specifically focusing on primary and secondary systems. The ideal candidate will have a background in conducting feasibility studies, addressing equipment reliability issues, and implementing system modifications and upgrades to enhance safety and reliability. A strong ability to exercise independent judgment in performing calculations, modifications, and designs is essential, along with the capability to present and justify modification packages through quality and safety reviews. The position demands superior technical knowledge in the mechanical discipline and the ability to collaborate effectively within project teams to evaluate conditions and develop design changes that improve plant performance, safety, and reliability. Experience interfacing and working with equipment vendors is also necessary. A thorough understanding of codes and standards relevant to the nuclear power industry, as well as working knowledge of applicable state and federal regulations (including the NRC), is required. Superior client skills and an understanding of the roles of other disciplines, coupled with the ability to coordinate and interface with them, are a must.
