About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the design and development of mechatronic and mechanical products from concept through validation and production. This role is responsible for translating system-level requirements into robust mechanical designs, supporting product development activities, and ensuring designs meet performance, manufacturability, and quality objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of mechanical product design and development experience.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals and their application to product development.
• Experience applying GD&T based on functional design requirements.
• Knowledge of manufacturing, machining, and assembly processes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with CATIA, NX, or SolidWorks.
• Experience designing products for automotive or vehicle-related applications.
• Familiarity with APQP, DFMEA, and product validation processes.
• Ability to work independently in a self-directed environment.
• Strong project coordination and organizational skills.
• Excellent verbal, written, and technical communication abilities.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical and mechatronic products using sound engineering principles and best practices.
• Translate system-level requirements into detailed component and assembly designs.
• Create and modify 3D models and assemblies using CAD software.
• Develop engineering drawings and apply appropriate GD&T requirements.
• Perform dimensional tolerance analyses, stack-up studies, and mechanical assembly analyses.
• Document designs through engineering reports, assembly drawings, and bill of material documentation.
• Conduct Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) activities.
• Evaluate and optimize component packaging within vehicle environments.
• Develop and execute component validation and development test plans.
• Support APQP activities related to component sourcing, validation, and production readiness.
• Manage product development activities to meet program timing, cost, and performance targets.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and customers throughout the product development lifecycle.
