About The Position

This position requires a highly technical Mechanical Engineer with expertise in the design, development, and integration of aircraft hydraulic/pneumatic/mechanical systems. The role involves overseeing engineering projects, performing analysis, and developing solutions for complex engineering problems related to C-130 Special Mission Aircraft undergoing heavy depot level maintenance and modification. Responsibilities include all phases of hardware design, development, integration, and analysis, as well as conducting feasibility studies for design improvements and advanced technologies. The engineer will also develop standards, guidelines, and certification criteria (TACC/MACC), and develop structural and corrosion repairs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two years’ experience in the design, development, and integration of aircraft hydraulic/ pneumatic/ mechanical systems.
  • Two years of overseeing design and development of engineering projects.
  • Experience in accomplishing airworthiness, loads, stress, and weight and balance analysis in support of systems integration.
  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Mech Engineering (ABET highly desired) and ten years of experience in the respective technical / professional discipline being performed, five years of which must be in the DoD or other USG ISR/SOF Organizations.
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in Mech Engineering (ABET highly desired) and 12 years of experience in the respective technical/professional discipline being performed, five of which must be in the DoD or other USG ISR/SOF Organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide highly technical expertise and guidance in solving complex engineering problems for C-130 Special Mission Aircraft undergoing heavy depot level maintenance and modification.
  • Perform in all phases of hardware design, development, integration/implementation, and analysis.
  • Plan and conduct engineering feasibility studies for the design improvement modifications and implementation of advanced technologies.
  • Develop standards and guidelines for tasks being performed including the generation of Tailored Airworthiness Certification Criteria (TACC) or the modification of such criteria in the Modified Airworthiness Certification Criteria (MACC).
  • Develop structural and corrosion repairs.
